He was predeceased by: his parents, George Fechter and Francis Fechter; and his son Christopher Fechter. He is survived by: his wife Charlotte Fechter; his siblings, Molly May, Anita Klesney (Frank), Karen Swango (Wayne) and Frank Fechter (Barbara); his sons, George Fechter IV, Joseph Fechter, John Fechter and David Fechter; his stepdaughters, Wanda Jones (Charles) and Shannon Cooper; and his grandchildren, Logan, Julia, Nicole, Nicholas and Nolan. He is also survived by several great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
A funeral service was held on Tuesday, September 29th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Bethel Baptist Church (6486 Confederate Hwy, Fairfax, SC 29827).
