She was predeceased by : her parents, Merritt McElveen and Mahaley Floyd McElveen; her husband James "J. F." Porter, Jr.; her children, James D. Porter and Debra Blackmon; her siblings, Buck, John, Woody McElveen, Jenny Parrott and Jackie McInville; and her friend Glenn Gardner.

She is survived by : her children, Larry Porter (Paige), Tony Porter (Cindy), Andy Porter (Samantha), Bonnie P. Rogers and Jane Beasley (Robert); her daughter-in-law Kim Porter; her sister Janice Langston; and her friend Bonnie Mae Wilkes. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, April 23rd 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home (2402 S Irby St, Florence, SC 29505). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, April 23rd 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
