She was predeceased by: her parents, Alvin Avin and Ruth Griffin Avin; her husband James Thomas Scurry Sr.; her children, Christie Scurry Robinson (Kenny) and James Thomas Scurry Jr. "Tommy"; her grandchildren, Charles Kenneth Robinson Jr. "Charlie" and Opal Celeste Redding; and her siblings, Alice Bugler (Johnny), Christine Corbett (Croley), Lynwood Avin (Marie) and Griffin Avin (Corinne).

She is survived by: her sons, Randy Scurry (Marilyn) and Glenn Scurry (Pam); her grandchildren, Dylan Scurry, Austin Scurry, Elliott Scurry and Brandy Hysong; her daughter Amy Welch (Steve); her grandchildren, Anna Grace, Layton and Kevin Scurry (Emily); her children, Griffin, Hampton and Lucas; and her siblings, Jeannett Rosenbaum (John) of Florida and Oscar Avin of Sumter.
