With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Donna Newsome (Florence, South Carolina), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on October 7, 2025 at the age of 66. In the sacred silence of farewell, Donna is released into the embrace of eternity, knowing that her light will continue to shine brightly in the tapestry of the lives of her loved ones. And as her memory is carried forward, may comfort be found in the knowledge that love is eternal, and that Donna's spirit lives on in the beauty that surrounds us.
She was predeceased by: her father William Wesley Broach, Sr.; and her husband Julian Edsel Newsome. She is survived by: her mother Betty Jean Moore Clark of Charleston; her siblings, William Wesley "Wes" Broach, Jr. (Darlene) of Cheraw, SC, Deborah Gainey of Florence and Shelley Clark Edwards (Danny) of Charleston; her stepmother Donna Jean Broach of Florence; and her stepbrothers, Douglas Scott Iles of Charleston and Demaree J. Iles of Brandon. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 9th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Waters-Powell Funeral Home (400 S Dargan St, Florence, SC 29506). A burial will be held on Thursday, October 9th 2025 at the Florence Memorial Gardens (3320 S Cashua Dr, Florence, SC 29501).
