He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl William and Delia Burke Ackerman; his wife Ruth Coffey Ackerman; his daughter Lianne Ackerman Swan; and his sister Evelyn Ackerman Zocklein.
He is survived by: his children, Rick Dillman (Billie Jean) and Kay Bassett (Charles); his grandchildren, Christy Wigger (Thomas), Kendra Collins (Jeremy) and Susan Broach; his great grandchildren, Dylan, Hannah, Caroline Ruth Collins, Chase Broach, Katie Rae, Reese Elin, Mary Grace and Linde Joy Wigger; his sibling's children, Debbie Gaddis, Claire and Eddie Zocklein; his great-nieces, Kaitlyn and Whitney Zocklein; and his nephew Steve Zocklein Maywood (Michael).
