She was predeceased by: her parents, Mabel Adkins Hux and Calude Henry Hux; her husband Reverend Joseph Ashley Dickens, Jr.; her son John Forrest Dickens; and her sister Jeanette Behlman.

She is survived by: her children, Joseph "Joey" Ashley Dickens, III of Midland, NC, Sara Jane McKissick (Larry) of Florence and Rebecca "Becky" Dickens Cox of Florence; her grandchildren, James "Jay" Ashley McKissick, Angela Elizabeth Gensel (Richard), Joseph Ashley Dickens, IV, Chelsea D. Parks (Justin) and Jordan Ashley Cox; her great grandchildren, Megan Elizabeth McKissick, Jackson McKissick, Emma Grace Gensel, Trey Gensel, Ben Gensel, Brantley Parks and Cora Parks; and her sisters, Margie Ingledue of Iowa and Virginia Tippett of Raleigh, NC..
