He was predeceased by: his wives, Evie Piersol and Sarah Piersol; and his sons, Everett Piersol and Eric Piersol. He is survived by: his daughter Elaine McKay; his son-in-law Leonard McKay; his granddaughters, Evie Brown (William Brown) and Cynthia Ellington (Patrick Ellington); and his great grandchildren, Shay Brown, Austin Brown and Connor Ellington.
A memorial service was held on Thursday, June 5th 2025 at 11:30 AM at the Ebenezer Baptist Church (524 S Ebenezer Rd, Florence, SC 29501). The military honors was held on Thursday, June 5th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Florence National Cemetery (1009 Stockade Dr, Florence, SC 29506).
