He was predeceased by: his parents, George Joseph Girard, Sr. and Gertrude Ruth Aiken Girard; his daughter-in-law Melissa Girard; and his siblings, Barbara Girard, George Joseph Girard, Jr., Larry Girard, James Girard, Richard Girard, Linda Basso and Dennis Girard.

He is survived by: his wife Carol Elizabeth Pierce Girard; his children, Nancy Jane Betourney (Steven Sr.), Gregory Charles Girard (Keitha), Gerry Carlton Girard (Brenda), Gordon Charles Girard, Jr., Julia Stoddard (Brett), Jeffery Ernest Girard (Jennifer) and Adam Joseph Girard; and his brother David Girard (Sandra). He is also survived by fourteen grandchildren; six greatgrandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Ronald McDonalds House or St. Jude.
