He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Roscoe Horton and Maud Eva Dabney Thorne; his wife Bonnie Lee Dixon; his children, Harold Horton, Jr., Charles "Chuck" Horton and Vickie Stewart; his brother Thomas Horton; and his stepsister Betty Jean Steger.
He is survived by: his brother Aubrey D Horton, Sr. (Brenda) of Mt. Holly, NC; his grandchildren, Reagan Poston (Lee), Jordon Atkinson (Jessica), Miranda Horton of Camden, SC, Cainon Horton of Charleston, SC, Jacob Horton of Goose Creek, SC and Charlie Ann Horton of Florence, SC; and his great grandchildren, Lakin Atkinson and Tyler Atkinson.
Visitation was held on Thursday, May 29th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home (2402 S Irby St, Florence, SC 29505). A graveside service was held on Friday, May 30th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Florence Memorial Gardens (3320 S Cashua Dr, Florence, SC 29501).
