He was predeceased by: his father James S. Kennedy; his siblings, Elijah Kennedy, Lawrence Kennedy, Vernell Kennedy, Dorothy Mae Kennedy and Louise Muldrow; and his grandparents, Leroy, Mattie Kennedy, Chalmus Stater and Carrie Gilbert.

He is survived by: his mother Dorothy Gilbert Kennedy; his daughter Gabrielle Hyman of Florence; his granddaughter Kalryah Hyman of Florence; his siblings, Oral Kennedy, David Kennedy, Jerry Pompey, Jeanette Kennedy of Florence, Elizabeth Kennedy of Florence, Mary Alice Rush of Florence, Celestine Kennedy of Florence and Marie Hicks of Florence; his sister-in-law Mary Elizabeth Kennedy of Timmonsville; his aunt Hallie Wright of Baltimore Maryland; and his sister Pandora Hardy of Florence. He is also survived by nephews; nieces; cousins; other relatives; and friends.
