It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of James H. Summersett of Florence, South Carolina, who passed away on May 10, 2025, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Lula Williamson Summersett and James Summersett; and his brother Leo Summersett of Lake Waccamaw. He is survived by: his children, Gail Outlaw (Jimmy) of Lexington, SC and Jimmy Summersett (Carla) of Florence; his grandchildren, Meagan Hostetler (Chris) of Johns Island, SC, Caroline Tate (Tommy) of Anderson, SC, Carson Kleinknecht (Barrett) of Florence and Hunter (Katie) of Greenville, SC.; and his great grandchildren, Emerson, Riley Hostetler, Ellie Tate, McCall, Oakley Kleinknecht, Ada Summersett, Boone, Noah, Dallas Tate and Monty Summersett. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, May 14th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Waters-Powell Funeral Home (400 S Dargan St, Florence, SC 29506). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, May 14th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
