With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Kay Fryman (Florence, South Carolina), who passed away on January 27, 2026 at the age of 79. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her son Michael Lee Ragin Jr.; and her parents, Millard Frederick Kirby III and Mary Olive Martin Gamble. She is survived by: her husband Eugene Carl Fryman; her children, Robin Kirby Ragin Hays (David) of Pawleys Island, Mary Kathryn Ragin Hobson (Jamie) of Columbia, Michelle Lea Marks (Jeremy) of Columbus, Valerie Lynn Gieser (Doug) of Columbus and Olivia McKenna Fryman of Gastonia; her grandchildren, William Phillip Hays of Charlotte, Emanuel Blair Ragin of Crested Butte, Julian Pierce Hays of Columbia, Shayla Lopez of Denver, Walker Patrick Dungan of Columbia and Emilie Kay Dungan of Columbia; her brother Dr. Troy Belser Gamble Jr.; and her nieces and nephews, Paige Kirby Gamble Whalen (Tyler) of Columbia, Joseph Adam Gamble (Maggie) of Columbia and Samuel Maxey Gamble (Lawson) of Columbia. She is also survived by mother and grandmother to her girls and her six cherished grandchildren.
