He was predeceased by: his parents, Hubert "Bun" Anderson and Bobbie Lou Thomlinson Anderson. He is survived by: his wife Joyce Pitts Anderson; his son Matthew Owens; his sister Susan Wiggins (Jeff); his nephews, Jeffrey Wiggins and Kody Pitts; his niece Kayla Sims (Travis); his great-nephew Jackson Sims; his mother-in-law Windola Pitts; his brother-in-law John Pitts (Ann); and his close friend Clay Williams (Cindy).
