He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Geraldine Mackey Blackwell of Lancaster, SC and Fred Phillips of Kershaw, SC; his brothers, Jerry Dean Blackwell and Kenneth Harold "Bull" Blackwell; his children, Donna Faye Wiggins (Lawton) of Hartsville, Stephanie Marie Brown of Hartsville, Brandon Shane Blackwell (Whitney) of Florence, Ian Casey Blackwell of Summerville and Kimberly Floyd Johnson (Deon) of Lake City; his grandchildren, Allison Blair Hill, Gabriella Elizabeth McKenzie, Leah Grace McKenzie, Emory Leigh Blackwell, Roxton Dale Blackwell and Joseph Tate Blackwell; his great grandchild Knightly Hill; and his daughter Jennifer Floyd Lee (Marcus) of Florence, SC..
Visitation was held on Saturday, July 26th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM and on Sunday, July 27th 2025 from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM. A memorial service was held on Sunday, July 27th 2025 at 2:30 PM at the Hoffmeyer Road Baptist Church (2317 Hoffmeyer Rd, Florence, SC 29501).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations on behalf of Roger to be contributed towards the HRBC Fellowship Hall Building Fund, P.O. Box 3905, Florence, S.C. 29502.
