He was predeceased by: his parents, Lee F. Benton and Margie Dawkins Benton; and his siblings, Lionel Benton, Kenny Benton, Bonnie Windham and Patricia Osborne.
He is survived by: his children, Ronald Lavon Benton Jr. and Charlie Benton Smith (Jeff) of Powhatan, VA; his grandmother Marissa Charles of Powhatan, VA; his brother Weldon Lee Benton of Florence; and his nephew John Benton. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, October 30th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Layton-Anderson Funeral Home (4210 W Palmetto St, Florence, SC 29501).
