He was predeceased by: his parents, Luther Soles and Martha Soles; his wife Katherine King Soles; his daughter Sobie Dixon; his sister Ruby Patrick; and his siblings-in-law, Diane Winburn and Hoover Patrick.

He is survived by: his grandsons, Woodward Rion Dixon III of Surfside Beach, SC and Preston Soles Dixon of Columbia, SC; his brother-in-law Arlon Winburn of Hartsville, SC; and his nieces and nephews, Bert Winburn (Marcia) of Florence, SC, Teresa Price (Alec) of Southern Pines, NC, Butch Patrick (Kathy) of Asheville, NC, Debbie Patrick (Kevin) of Chapel Hill, NC and Tiffaney Whitesides (John) of Winston-Salem, NC.. He is also survived by his wife, his daughter, his grandchildren.
