He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Spiess and Stella Cichocki Spiess; his sister Henrietta Schlotterbeck (Raymond); and his sister-in-law Delores Spiess. He is survived by: his wife Mary Modaffari Spiess; his children, Dawn Cannon (Aaron) of Waxhaw, NC, Debbie Randall (Keith) of Raleigh, NC, David Spiess (Patsy) of Sharon Springs, NY and Dwayne Spiess (Susan) of Schaghticoke, NY; his grandchildren, Natalie, Matthew (Paige), Holly, Monica, Joshua, Bridget, Paige and Sophie; and his brother Hank Spiess.
