He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Nowokunski; his children, Craig Nowokunski (Kim), Keith Nowokunski (Holli), Laura Martschenko (Bill) and Scott Nowokunski (Kelly); and his grandsons, Todd Nowokunski, Lee Nowokunski (Katie), Aaron Martschenko (Amanda), Troy Nowokunski (Allison), Kyle Nowokunski (Morgan), Brian Martschenko (Savannah), Jake Nowokunski, Michael Nowokunski, Adam Nowokunski, Patrick Nowokunski and Cody Nowokunski. He is also survived by three great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to the Charlotte Rescue Mission in honor of Ed's life and legacy.
