He was predeceased by : his parents, George Edward Sr. and Doris Jean; and his brother Jerry Gast. He is survived by : his wife Mary Ann; his sons, Jim Gast (Rochelle) and John Gast (Sabrina); his grandchildren, Katherine Gast (Zach), Josh Gast (Kourtney), Ashley Gast and Jordan Gast; his brothers, Charlie Gast (Doris) and Jim Gast (Rita); and his sister-in-law Donna Gast. He is also survived by three great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice and Community Care of Rock Hill.
