It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John George Van Horn (Fort Mill, South Carolina), born in Sioux City, Iowa, who passed away on December 7, 2025, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, James Horn and Margaret Van Horn (Hutchinson); and his brother James Van Horn. He is survived by: his spouse Terry Van Horn (Hoguewood); his children, Jeffrey (Carrie) of Arnold and Jodi Mallett (Mike) of Lancaster; his grandchildren, Sabrina Van Horn (Garrett Vermaat), Zachary Van Horn, Jacob Mallett (Jaclyn Carpenter), Jenna Mallett and Megan Mallett; his great grandchildren, Dominic and Mikayla; and his sister Sara Strongin (Phil). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honor his memory are invited to make a donation to the Alzheimer's Association at alz.org, in recognition of his courageous battle with Alzheimer's.
