She was predeceased by: her parents, Cecil Harris Blackwelder and Doris Hawfield Blackwelder; her husband Jack Snipes, Sr.; and her siblings, Cecile Sloan, Jeanette McLemore, Harry Blackwelder and Nancy Strickland.

She is survived by: her children, Kathryn Craig (Wayne), Jack Snipes and Ervin Carpenter; her sister Judy Cook; and her granddaughter Hanna Snipes.
