She was predeceased by: her husband Morris Allen Hamby; her parents, Lemuel Elmer Pitts, Sr. and Kate Elizabeth Cole Pitts; her son-in-law Gene Searcy; and her siblings, Junior Pitts and Martha Pitts.
She is survived by: her children, Tony Hamby (Rebecca) and Wanda Searcy; her sisters, Frances Fortson, VergieNell Smith and Inez Burton; her granddaughters, Shannon Silver (Taylor) and Mary Katherine Hamby; and her great grandchild Conley Silver.
