He was predeceased by: his son John Preston Stephens; his parents, John Wright Stephens and Eunice Stephens of Virginia; and his siblings, Pansy Stephens Thackston and Fred L Stephens.
He is survived by: his wife Georgia Mae Stephens; his son Charles "Eddie" Stephens (Carol); his daughter-in-law Kelli Stephens; his grandchildren, Charles Ethan Stephens (Sheila), Elizabeth Stephens Landreth (Ethan) and Emily Stephens Gutierrez (Parker); and his great grandchildren, Audrey, Magnolia and Kayce.
