He was predeceased by: his wife Geraldine "Gerri" Roth Tate; his parents, Edwin Arthur Tate and Florence Mae Petrie Tate; and his siblings, Marge Schwerk, Miriam Elkin, Jane Tate and Ivan Tate.
He is survived by: his sons, Edwin A. Tate II (Tammy), David A. Tate (Katie) and Douglas J. Tate; his granddaughter Amanda R. Tate; and his stepgrandchildren, Justin Allbritton and Kelly McGivern.
