He was predeceased by: his parents, Lewis Edward "Bud" Cooley and Louise Elizabeth Gresham Cooley; his sons, Steve Lee and Zach Devos; his siblings, Lewis Cooley, Roy Cooley and Nancy Brown; and his son-in-law Darrell Christopher.
He is survived by: his wife Dora Amelia "Molly" Beaman Cooley; his children, David Cooley (Lori), Doug Cooley, Jr. (Tammy), Jesse Cooley (Ann) and Suzzy Christopher; and his brother Leon Cooley (Carol).
A celebration of life was held on Saturday, May 2nd 2026 from 11:00 AM to 11:45 AM at the Hillside Baptist Church (501 Hillside Church Rd, Fountain Inn, SC 29644). Visitation was held on Saturday, May 2nd 2026 from 11:45 AM to 12:30 PM at the same location.
