He was predeceased by: his parents, William Oscar Smith and Anna Mae Owens Smith; and his siblings, Harold "Shorty" Smith, David Smith, Lucille Hudson, Martha Ann Strickland, Margaret Ballard and Lola Mae Case. He is also survived by several niece and nephews.
