With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Annie Bell Hopper of Gaffney, South Carolina, who passed away on May 6, 2026 at the age of 85. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Mozelle Tate and Bailey Reid; her spouse Carnell Hopper; and her children, Annie Mozell Tate and Freddie Tate.
She is survived by: her siblings, Lillian Jefferies, Elwillie Knuckles, Minnie Pearl Rogers, Edward Tate, Harold Tate and Lonell Tate; her children, Peggy Delois Tate of Gaffney and Calvin Bernard Tate of Gaffney; her granddaughter Chandera Dawkins; her great grandchild Empora Dawkins of Gaffney; and her close friends, Emma Grand, Vickie Drummond, Faye Shippy, David Shippy, Teresa Smith and Larry Banks. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.
Viewing was held on Friday, May 15th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Gordon Mortuary - Gaffney (211 E Frederick St, Gaffney, SC 29340). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 16th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Indian Hill Baptist Church (135 Leadmine St, Gaffney, SC 29340).
