With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Charles Putman of Gaffney, South Carolina, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on June 4, 2025 at the age of 93. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his spouse Beverly Palmer Putman; his parents, Hobert Putman and Nellie Dorman Putman; his daughter Freida Putman Matthews; and his siblings, Edward Putman, Frank Putman, George Putman and Vinnie Miller.
He is survived by: his daughter April Newton (Greg) of Spartanburg; his siblings, Kenneth Putman (Betty Sue) of Easley, Ruby Starnes of Gaffney, Martha McCraw of Inman and Carolyn Stacy of Blacksburg; and his grandchildren, Bradley Newton and Lydia Newton.
Visitation will be held on Monday, June 9th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Blakely Funeral Home (1047 Chesnee Hwy, Gaffney, SC 29341). A funeral service will be held on Monday, June 9th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Blakely Funeral Home Chapel (1047 Chesnee Hwy, Gaffney, SC 29341).
