He was predeceased by: his parents, Cleve Medley and Ila Reynolds Medley; his sons, Jerry Medley and Richard Medley; and his siblings, William Medley, Ralph Medley, Dolphus Medley, Thomas Medley, Lula Gathings, Mary Bell Murray, Pauline Porter, Lois Mullinax and Eunice Medley.
He is survived by: his wife Velma Harris Medley; his children, Tracy Medley (Mamie) of Gaffney, Brenda Eubanks (Leo) of Gaffney and Teresa Hicks (Jimmy) of Gaffney; his sisters, Frances Childers of Gaffney and Julia Swanger of Gaffney; his grandchildren, Taylor Hicks (Lindsey), Desiree House (Austin), Damian Eubanks (Peyton), Tanner Hicks (Dakota) and Tristan Medley; and his great grandchildren, Langston Hicks, Larsen Hicks, Ryker Medley, Aspen Hicks and Wrenley Eubanks.
