He was predeceased by: his parents, Wren Mullinax and Pearl Millwood Peeler; and his siblings, Corrine Sprouse, Sara Mullinax, Doug, Dennis and Donnie Mullinax.

He is survived by: his wife Barbara Mullinax; his close friend Sara Hadden; his children, Clyde Mullinax (Deanna), Brian Mullinax, Sarah Daniels (Pete) and Libby Ragstole (Lee); his stepdaughters, Rosa Wilkie (Tommy) and Tina Fitzgerald; his siblings, Terry Mullinax, Billy Mullinax, Janice James, Carolyn Holcomb and Helen Hall; and his grandchildren, Taylor Mode (Darren), Randy Waters Jr., Lee Ragstole Jr., Danny Wayne Ragstole, Brandy Michelle Mullinax, Andrea Mullinax, Ashlee Mullinax and Addison Mullinax.
