He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Heffner and Dora Wyatt Gwinn; and his sister Kim Heffner. He is survived by: his wife Donna Cartee Heffner; his children, Chris Heffner (Alex Fowler) and Elizabeth Heffner (Donte Frison) of Lincolnton, NC; his half-brother Charles Heffner of Old Fort, NC; his sister Sheila Howell of Asheville, NC; his half-sisters, Dorothy Gwinn of Spartanburg and Tina Keith of Old Fort, NC; his sister-in-law Brenda Cartee of Gaffney; and his grandchildren, Ahdri Denham, Cartee and Eli Dalvine.
