He was predeceased by: his parents, William George Coggins and Thelma Burns Coggins of Gaffney; and his sisters, Anne Wilson Bishop of Taylors, SC and Jane C. Robinson of Easley, SC.. He is survived by: his wife Diane W. Coggins; and his daughters, Georgane Coggins of Summerville, SC and Ashley Coggins of Delray Beach, FL. He is also survived by three nieces and a nephew.
