He was predeceased by: his parents, Cole L. Porter and Sarah Jean Whelchel Porter; and his brothers, Bo Porter, Junior Porter and Lester Porter.
He is survived by: his spouse Shirley Smith Porter; his pet Carolina Gamecocks; his children, Eric Parker (Jennifer) of Blacksburg, John Parker (Ashley) of Gaffney, Stacey Stargel of Gaffney and Samantha Parker of Louisville, KY; his sister Mary Stockwell of Gaffney; and his niece Mandy Painter (Dusty) of Gaffney.
