With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Jack Vess of Gaffney, South Carolina, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on June 18, 2025 at the age of 92. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Jack Vess to pay them a last tribute.
He was predeceased by: his wife Joanne Marie Stephens Vess; his parents, John Sullivan Vess and Edna McEntire Vess; his son Joe Edward Vess; and his siblings, Gene Vess, Charlotte Ramsey and Peggy Vess.
He is survived by: his children, Danny Vess of Gaffney, Scott Vess of Gaffney, Jimmy Vess (Lori) of Blacksburg, Steve Vess (Kathy) of Landrum, Debbie Phillips (Robert) of Gaffney and Tracy Vess (Chris Bailey) of Gaffney; and his grandchildren, Jennifer Forrester (Chase), Lee Damren, Joanna Allen (Ron), Heather Vess, Kinsey Black (Drew), Summer Vess, Breanna Vess, Mandy Long, Karen McCraw (Jason), Carol Nichols and Wendy Rollins. He is also survived by 14 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 24th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Blakely Funeral Home (1047 Chesnee Hwy, Gaffney, SC 29341). A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, June 24th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Blakely Funeral Home Chapel (1047 Chesnee Hwy, Gaffney, SC 29341).
