He was predeceased by: his parents, James Davis Phillips and Ruby Poole Phillips; and his siblings, Carolyn Phillips, Gerald Phillips and Joe Dean Phillips.
He is survived by: his wife Carole LeMaster Phillips; his children, Brett Davis (Rene'e) of Walhalla and Lisa Phillips Hauser (Ray) of Gaffney; his brothers, Lane Phillips (Martha) of Lyman and Benny Phillips (Alice) of Gaffney; and his grandchildren, Travis Kirkland (Marianne), Josh Kirkland (Tabitha), Brandi Davis, Scott Davis, Andrew Hauser (Eileen) and Stephen Hauser (April).
Visitation was held on Tuesday, October 28th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Grassy Pond Baptist Church (254 Grassy Pond Rd, Gaffney, SC 29341). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, October 28th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
