He was predeceased by: his wife Hazel Price Hughey; his parents, Samuel Hughey and Leona Wisher Hughey; his daughter Tina Hughey; his grandson Eric Smarr; and his siblings, Kathleen Mullinax, Thelma Painter, Lois Mullinax, Charlie Hughey, Boyd Hughey and Ray Hughey.
He is survived by: his children, Bradley Hughey (Crystal) of Gaffney, Angela Neal (Craig) of Gaffney and Karen Peterson (Mark) of Gaffney; his sister Gladys Hughey Mullinax of Gaffney; his grandchildren, Brandon Smarr, Blake Peterson (Brittany Randolph), Dylan Peterson, Hunter Hughey and Bella Grace Hughey; his stepgrandchildren, Austin, Andrew, Emily and Katie Clary; and his great grandchildren, Kade Peterson and Josie Peterson.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.
