She was predeceased by: her parents, Wilson Burgess and Cornelia Phillips; her children, Jeffery Tatum and Janet Scruggs; and her grandson Brandon Whichard.
She is survived by: her children, Gerald Tatum, Jr. (Jeanette) of Union and Mary "Janie" Meyer of Gaffney; and her grandchildren, William Tatum, Josh Tatum, John Meyer, Justin Meyer, Julianna Meyer, Chelsea Scruggs, Trevor Scruggs and Kayla Breeden. She is also survived by sixteen great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
