With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Mary Lane (Gaffney, South Carolina), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on August 18, 2025 at the age of 89. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Mary Lane to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her husband William "Bill" Langford Lane, III; her parents, Edward Judson Smith and Susie Robbs Smith; and her sisters, Evelyn Godfrey and Helen Shackell.
She is survived by: her daughters, Carol Cooley (Jones) of Chesnee, Cathy Worsley (Arnold) of Tarboro, NC and Elizabeth Wichers; her brother Edward Judson Smith, Jr. of Clearwater, FL; her grandchildren, Shannon Wichers Miller (Pieter), Judson Wichers (Leena), Will Cooley (Jessica Harris) and Joseph Worsley; and her great grandchildren, Silas Miller, Rhett Miller and Celia Mary Miller. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
