He was predeceased by: his parents, Wilbert Hammett and Lennie Martin Hammett; his grandson Jimmy Conner; his siblings, Glenn Hammett, Forrest Hammett, Margie Padgett, Annie Ruppe, Billie Welch and Mary Brown; Carolyn Sailor Hammett and Mary Madeline Roland Hammett.
He is survived by: his children, Maynard Hammett, Jr. (Susie) of Cliffside, NC, Norma Knight (Robert) of High Point, NC and Patty Conner (Jimmy) of Forest City, NC; his brother Robert Hammett (Brenda) of Gaffney; and his grandchildren, Shanna Good (Adam), Robert Knight, Jr. (Heather), Christopher Hammett (Melissa) and James Hammett (Kelsey).
