He was predeceased by: his parents, Miles Elijah Gettys, Jr. and Louise Salmon Gettys; and his sister Elizabeth "Libbie". He is survived by: his wife Jenny Cooper Gettys; his brother Henry G. Gettys (Beth) of Gaffney; and his brother-in-law Steve E. Blanton of Gaffney.
A memorial service was held on Thursday, November 13th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Episcopal Church of the Inc (308 College Dr, Gaffney, SC 29340).
