He was predeceased by: his parents, Lionel Bratton and Louise Spencer Bratton; his siblings, Jim Bratton, Roger Bratton, Ann Norris and Sara Jean Whelchel; and his nephew Tommy Whelchel.

He is survived by: his wife Linda McWaters Bratton; his great-nephew Brad Ellis (Dayna) of Gaffney; his children, Karli, Drew and Wes; and his sibling's children, Mitzi Ellis (Barry) of Gaffney, Tammy Fowler of Gaffney, Jimmy Whelchel (Joleen) of Gaffney, Mike Norris of Gaffney, Dick Norris of Gaffney, Eddie Bratton of Gaffney and Scott Bratton of Gaffney.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Draytonville Baptist Church, 179 Draytonville Church Road, Gaffney, SC 29340.
