He was predeceased by: his wife Rosie Lee Hughey Blanton; his parents, William Blanton and Alice Spencer Blanton; and his siblings, Melvin Blanton, James Blanton, Virgil Blanton, Doug Blanton, J. B. Blanton, Tommy Blanton, Fred Blanton, Joe Blanton, Pearl McMurray, Gracie Moss, Mary Blanton and Catherine Owens.
He is survived by: his children, Tony Blanton (Janice) of Gaffney, Gary Blanton of Gaffney and Cindy Blackwell (Billy) of Gaffney; his siblings, Sherwood Blanton (Hazel) of Gaffney and Nancy Manning of Gaffney; his sister-in-law Linda Hall of Gaffney; his grandchildren, Jason Blackwell (Leigh), Tina Morris (Tony), Will Blanton (McKenzie) and Lauren Blanton; and his great grandchildren, Ashlyn Morris, Rylee Morris, Hannah Blackwell, Logan Blackwell, Hampton Blanton, Eliza Blanton and Sara Blanton. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
