He was loved and cherished by many people including: his brother John Edward McKenzie, Jr.; his wife Cecilia Baker McKenzie; his children, Alma Maters, Dr. David Hutchinson McKenzie, Jr. (Michelle), Ashley McKenzie Stephens (Robbie) and Colonel Mary McKenzie Gutierrez (Lieutenant Colonel Michael); his grandchildren, McKenzie Elizabeth Drennan, Madelyn Marie McKenzie, Joseph David McKenzie and Garrett Hutchinson Gutierrez; and his sibling's children, John "Ned" Edward McKenzie, III (Laura), Teresa McKenzie Youmans and Bill Harper, III.
