She was predeceased by: her parents, Roy Lee Ford and Evie Tucker Ford; and her siblings, Lawrence Ford and Libby Lipscomb. She is survived by: her husband Earl Hightower; her children, Rhonda Hightower Zobel of Swansea, Michael Hightower (Carla) of Sumter and Brandon Hightower of Lexington; her grandchildren, Summer Leigh Zobel and Dayton Hightower; her sisters, Brenda Thompson (Tony) of Early Branch, SC and Sharon Morris of St. Matthews; and her siblings-in-law, Carolyn Proveaux of Denmark, SC and David Hightower of Denmark.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Abbey Road Hospice, 5429 Bush River Road, Columbia, SC 29212.
