He was predeceased by: his parents, Dewey Hoover and Lila Hoover; his siblings, John Hoover, Harvey Hoover (Miriam) and Hilda Waters; his former wives, Maryann Purvis and Patsy Hoover; his son Todd Hoover; his daughter-in-law Mary Kay Hoover; and his granddaughter Alicia Garnsey.
He is survived by: his wife Emily Hoover; his sons, Jimmy Hoover (Linda) and Ricky Hoover; his stepchildren, Amanda Shaw (Jason), Leslie Griffiths (Clint), Dana Hooks and Lauren Anderson (Neal); and his granddaughter Amber Hoover. He is also survived by grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A memorial service was held on Saturday, May 2nd 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses (4560 US-321, Gaston, SC 29053).
