He was predeceased by: his parents, Ansel Richard Fort and Ethelda Shuler Fort; and his mother-in-law Jackie (Ann Powers). He is survived by: his wife Jan Powers Fort of Georgetown; his daughter Elizabeth Fort Moore (Scott) of Georgetown; his grandchildren, Charlotte Ann Moore, Cole Moore of Georgetown and Gage Coleman of Georgetown; his siblings, Jack Powers (Kim) of Georgetown, Richard Powers (Shelley) of Georgetown and Leigh Boan (Jason) of Pawleys Island; his nieces and nephews, Andie Downs (Michael), Ansley Powers, Andrea Smith, Presleigh Boan, Ellerby Boan, Jackson Powers, Zachary Powers, Will Powers and Buck Boan; and his pets, Daisy, Barnaby and Dolly.
Visitation was held on Friday, May 15th 2026 from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM at the First Baptist Church (219 Cleland St, Georgetown, SC 29440). A memorial service was held on Friday, May 15th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
