He was predeceased by: his parents, Redge Carter and Mary Fulton Carter; his brother Raymond Lee Carter; his children, Brenda Langston and Jimmy Carter, Jr.; and his brother-in-law Jimmy Marshall.
He is survived by: his wife Ellen Ruth Carter (Alford); his siblings, Emily Owens, Mickey Marshall, Libby Powell (Jerry) and Wayne Carter; and his son Robert Nathan Carter. He is also survived by grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 5th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens (1640 Pennyroyal Rd, Georgetown, SC 29440). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 5th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the same location.
