We announce the death of Janice Barnhill Howell (Georgetown, South Carolina), who passed away on July 23, 2026, at the age of 77. Janice will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her parents, Dock Champion Barnhill and Juley Idell Johnson Barnhill; her granddaughter Allison Brooke Howell; and her siblings, Dock Junior Barnhill, Dwight Barnhill, Vivian Martin, Geraldine Causey and Ann Zurcher.
She is survived by: her husband Jackie; her children, Russell Jackie Howell, Jr. (Michelle) of Georgetown and Dana Howell McCarthy (Vincent) of Charleston; her grandchildren, Taylor Jessica Howell of Georgetown, Virginia Ann McCarthy of Charleston, William "Alex" McCarthy of Charleston and Olivia June McCarthy of Charleston; her great grandchild Maylynn Carter of Georgetown; and her sister Mildred Fesler of Goose Creek. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
