She was predeceased by: her parents, Wylie Pearce and Mary Agnes Rowe Taylor; her former husband Carl Andrew "Bubba" Merritt, Jr.; and her siblings-in-law, Pamela O. Taylor, J. Larry Merritt and Robert D. Cox III.
She is survived by: her children, Candace M. Johnson (Robert) of Georgetown, SC, Carla M. Mallinson (Roger) of Murrells Inlet, SC and Duncan T. Merritt (Kara) of Andrews, SC; her grandsons, Griffith T. Johnson (EmiLee), Andrew J. Merritt and Ridge L. Mallison; her brothers, Wayne P. Taylor, Sr. and Daniel R. Taylor (Debbie); and her sisters-in-law, Rebecca M. Cox, Kathy M. Goodwin (Paul) and Phyllis N. Scott. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to First Baptist Church, Georgetown, SC and the National Alzheimer's Association.
