He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry L. Young, Sr. (Doc) and Hazel West Young; his daughter Deanna Young Rader Avant of Georgetown, SC; and his siblings, Hank Young, Larry Young, Deryl Young, Michael Young, Jacquolene Young Gould and Donna Young Thompson.
He is survived by: his wife Linda Mincey Young; his daughters, Wendy Young Adams (Phil) of Georgetown, SC, Renee Young Thompkins (Greg) of Georgetown, SC and Leigh Abbott of Murrells Inlet, SC; his grandchildren, Travis Brown (Amber), Robert Rader, Joey Rader (Erin), Jessica Small, Gregory Thompkins (Amber), Nicholas Thompkins (Bevan) and Lola Abbott; his great grandchildren, Kara Watford (Kolbey), Kayla Lewis (Tyler), Daylon Brown, Emma Brown, Ansleigh Rader, Ethan Rader, Natalie Small, Elena Rader, Deanna Rader, Charlie Brown, Lynnlee Thompkins and Bellamy Thompkins; his great great grandchildren, Prestyn, Masyn, Amelia and Della Mae; and his brother Lamar Young (Sally).
Visitation was held on Sunday, September 14th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Downtown Chapel of Mayer-Ethridge Funeral Home & Crematory (222 St James St, Georgetown, SC 29440). A funeral service was held on Monday, September 15th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Mt. Tabor Baptist Church (43 Tabor Dr, Georgetown, SC 29440).
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked donations to be made to Trinity At Topsaw by mail at 2183 Upper Topsaw Rd, Georgetown, SC 29440.
